ADAM HASTINGS
HEAD COACH, INDIAN LAND HIGH SCHOOL

Sponsored by First National Bank, the High School Football Coach of the Year Award honors local coaches who demonstrate character, integrity, sportsmanship, responsibility, and excellence both on and off the field. This year, the award goes to Indian Land High School’s Adam Hastings.

Coach Hastings expects his players to meet high standards in every area—academically, athletically, and behaviorally. He enforces discipline with fairness and consistency while maintaining open communication with administrators and families. Under his guidance, players learn accountability, discipline, and respect, understanding that representing Indian Land High School means more than just wearing a jersey—it’s about integrity, humility, and pride on and off the field.

Hastings is a model of sportsmanship and leadership, teaching his players to compete with intensity but always with honor. His athletes are taught to respect opponents, officials, and the game itself, win or lose. Beyond competition, Hastings emphasizes character and discipline through daily interactions and team-building sessions. His athletes are known for their discipline, teamwork, and class earning the admiration from fans, officials, and even rival programs across the state.

Responsibility and community engagement are central to Coach Hastings’ philosophy. He regularly organizes service projects and volunteer initiatives with his team, including youth sports clinics, campus clean-up efforts, and local charity events. Following Hurricane Helene, Hastings led a team-wide effort to collect and deliver supplies to families impacted across Western North Carolina—reflecting his belief in giving back beyond the field. He encourages every player to become a well-rounded student-athlete who contributes positively to school, family, and community life.

Hastings also promotes excellence in the classroom, emphasizing academic performance and personal growth as essential parts of success. Through structured study halls, mentorship programs, and leadership discussions, he ensures that his players value education as much as athletics. His athletes represent their families and school with pride, demonstrating the work ethic and dedication that define Indian Land football.

On the field, Coach Hastings has led the Warriors to consistent growth and achievement. Each season, his teams have shown improvement in discipline, execution, and competitiveness, earning multiple playoff appearances and respect statewide. Under his leadership, the Warriors have seen a significant Increase in offensive production, defensive toughness, and overall performance. This season, Indian Land stands undefeated at 7–0, averaging more than 35 points per game—a testament to Hastings’ ability to prepare his players for success and maintain composure in close contests.

Through his leadership and example, Coach Adam Hastings embodies what it means to be a true educator, mentor, and community leader. His influence extends far beyond wins and losses, shaping young men who value integrity, accountability, and service. First National Bank and the Charlotte Touchdown Club proudly honor Coach Hastings for his exceptional impact on his players, school, and community.
