Julius L. Chambers high school
The High School Female Flag Football Team of the Year Award honors a local area female flag
varsity football team that has excelled on the field and in the areas of scholarship,
sportsmanship, citizenship, and leadership.
The recipient of the 2024 High School Female Flag Football Team of the Year Award is the
Julius L. Chambers Cougars.
From the moment the Lady Cougars Flag Football Team joined the league they demonstrated
an exceptional level of commitment and skill. Coaches credit incredible team leadership as the
key to the Lady Cougars’ success on the field which has resulted in undefeated regular seasons
for three consecutive years and winning the city championship two years in a row. The team’s
consistent ability to perform at the highest level has led to a record of leading the division with
touchdowns for three straight years.
The Lady Cougars Flag Football Team has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the
team and the future of the program. Their passion for the sport is evident in their tireless efforts
to not only improve their own skills but also to uplift and develop the Junior Varsity players. They
took it upon themselves to mentor these younger athletes, providing them with invaluable
experience by allowing them to participate in games resulting in a sense of unity and teamwork
within the entire program.
Lady Cougars also excel in the classroom and as well-rounded individuals. They consistently
make the honor roll and are active in Student Government. Many are involved with the JROTC
and the Cambridge program which further highlights a strong commitment to personal growth
and community service. The Lady Cougars’ positive attitudes and unwavering determination
make them role models for teammates and classmates alike.

Beyond their athletic achievements, the Lady Cougars Flag Football Team has shown a
remarkable dedication to the community, completing over one hundred hours of service
demonstrating their commitment to giving back and making a positive impact. The team’s efforts
have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the $200,000 in scholarships the team has earned.

Chambers with the 2024 High School Female Flag Football Team of the Year Award.
