Weddington Titans
10U Division 1 Charlotte Little Panthers
The Little Panthers Weddington Titans 10U McCotter team was founded in the 2023 season,
with over 87% of the team experiencing the challenge of wearing pads for the first time during
those grueling August practices.
The coaches are deeply committed to their players' growth, both on and off the field. Each
coach has played high school football, coaches other sports, and serves as a leader in both the
community and within their professional careers. The team motto, ABLE — Attitude, Body
Language, and Effort — was instilled in each player, driving them to reach the City
Championship in their inaugural season.
The 2024 season kicked off with 20 of the 23 players returning, and with three new additions,
the team continued building on its foundation of determination and success. These young
athletes dedicated themselves to mastering football fundamentals while more importantly
developing character traits such as hard work, persistence, and respect for their fellow players,
which will shape them into the men God created them to become.
Off the field, 90% of the team earned the A/B honor roll. On the field, they were equally
impressive: the offense scored 29 touchdowns, successfully converted over 70% of their extra
point attempts, and even returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
Defensively, the Titans were a formidable force, recovering multiple fumbles, achieving at least
eight interceptions, and allowing only 19 points in the second half across their eight-game
season. The Titans consistently dug deep and came alive in the second half, demonstrating
their resilience and determination.
Although the season did not end with an overall first-place finish, the lessons learned through
adversity will help propel these players to the next level. Whether they continue with the Titans
or join other teams in the future, each player has gained the heart, integrity, and resilience
needed to succeed on and off the field.
The Charlotte Touchdown Club and Publix Super Markets are thrilled to present this year’s Pop
Warner Little Panthers Award to the Weddington Titans!
