The Charlotte Touchdown Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit Sports-Social organization founded in 1990 for the purpose of promoting high school, collegiate, and professional football in the Charlotte, North Carolina Region. At its inception, the Touchdown Club held weekly luncheons generally attended by ten to fifteen representatives from local colleges and the media. Since that time, the Club has grown as well as diversified, boasting a Sponsor Team of over seventy companies.
Through the years the Touchdown Club has supported our schools and responded to our needs. In 2010, when CMS lost funding for middle school athletics, the Touchdown Club stepped up with a sizable donation that helped keep the need visible in the community...

Created in 1993 by the Football Writers Association of America, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy is awarded to the best defensive player in college football and is presented by the Charlotte Touchdown Club. The award was established to complement the Heisman Trophy Award, which at the time had never been presented to a defensive player.
