This weekly spotlight, set to launch on September 21, recognizes a football player from one of our nation’s elite military schools for his outstanding leadership qualities on and off the field. “Thanks to the generous support and partnership of The Independence Fund, the Charlotte Touchdown Club is excited to recognize one of our nation’s outstanding leaders with the Defender of the Nation Award Weekly Player Profile” said John Rocco Executive Director Charlotte Touchdown Club. “This effort helps celebrate our nation’s military academies and their outstanding graduates who do so much to protect our freedom.”
Players profiled will be selected from one of the nation’s (9) military academies and institutions including: Air Force Academy, The Citadel, Coast Guard Academy, Naval Academy, Norwich University, Texas A&M University, Virginia Tech, VMI, and West Point and is based on exceptional leadership qualities on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
