CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 14, 2010) – The Charlotte Touchdown Club is proud to
announce Concord, NC-based ACN as Presenting Sponsor for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy
presented annually in conjunction with the Football Writers Association of America to the nation’s most outstanding college defensive football player.

“Today is an exciting day for the Charlotte Touchdown Club, as we welcome ACN as Presenting Sponsor for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy,” said Charlotte Touchdown Club President Mike Sullivan. “Thanks to ACN’s generous support, the Charlotte Touchdown Club will meet its goal of a fully-funded $1,000,000 Endowment by next year, which will enable the club to increase our commitment and support of area athletics, such as our recent contribution to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools’ efforts to keep athletic programs available to all Middle School students.”

Beginning in 2011, ACN’s sponsorship also allows the club to put together a syndicated nationwide television package which will dramatically increase the Bronko Nagurski Trophy’s visibility and will allow college fans around the country to enjoy the excitement of the Nagurski Trophy Award’s Ceremony held annually in Charlotte.

“ACN is very proud to support the Charlotte Touchdown Club’s mission of promoting Citizenship, Scholarship, Sportsmanship and Leadership, and we are thrilled to be the Presenting Sponsor of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy,” said ACN Board Executive Dave Stevanovski.  “Like football legend Bronko Nagurski, ACN employees embody the qualities of hard work, determination and dedication to excellence. ACN strives to take care of our community for as long as we call Charlotte home, so we look forward to a long and successful partnership with the Charlotte Touchdown Club.”

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is presented annually by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and the Football Writers Association of America to the nation’s most outstanding NCAA defensive football player. The Charlotte Touchdown Club also honors local college and high school football players. Since its inception in 1991, the Club has raised more than $1 million benefiting high school and collegiate student athletes and sports programs across the Carolinas.
